Passive Spectators: How the KP Government Betrayed Its Leader

While the federal authorities execute a policy of strict containment, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)—controlled by Imran Khan’s own party—stands accused of complete political impotence. Despite holding provincial power, a strong public mandate, and administrative resources, the KP leadership has done little more than issue toothless press releases and routine statements of concern. Their failure to translate party power into meaningful resistance is an absolute disgrace to the millions who elected them.

Imran Khan explicitly instructed his party and provincial leadership to mobilize, resist legal overreach, and fight for basic constitutional rights. Instead, the current KP government has engaged in political theater and procedural delay. Rather than utilizing their constitutional leverage, shutting down governance to demand his immediate access to independent care, or organizing sustained, unstoppable public rallies, provincial ministers are merely killing time in comfortable offices.

If the KP government refuses to act decisively now, they will be remembered as the administration that watched their founder suffer from the safety of their cabinet seats.
